What’s a CSA?
A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) connects a farmer directly with consumers. By being a member you are pre-purchasing a share in the season’s harvest.
All our fruit and vegetables are certified organic by Pro-cert and free of genetic modification, chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
We sent a survey to our past CSA members last year and we want to thank everyone for their feedback from our survey; it was all very useful information and has led to some changes for the coming year.
What we heard was people wanted more choice, more flexibility and fresher produce so here's what we've come up with.
The way it works is that you will pay in advance for a voucher to be used throughout the season at our farmers markets, and you have priority choice of our produce.
By paying up front you will receive a bonus of 5% for the year. You can buy shares in multiples of $100. For example if you bought a share for $300 you would get a voucher for $315 that you can spend at our market stall, or if it was for $500 you would get a voucher for $525, and so on. Note: If you choose to pay online using Paypal you will only receive a 2% bonus on your vegetables.
Pick Up Locations
After a year's absence, we will be back at the Brantford Farmers Market on Saturdays from 7 am to 1 pm.
We will also be at the Ancaster Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 3 to 7 pm.
For those who sign up for a CSA, you will be able to pick up from either of these locations.
These changes give you a number of improvements to our CSA:
- You get to choose what produce you would want, when you want it, and you have priority in choosing produce.
- You choose how much you want to spend
- If you're away it won't matter as you would still have your credits available
- The season will be extended as we will have produce available earlier and later at markets than we could in shares
- The produce will be fresher as it won't be sitting around in boxes for hours, especially if you come early to the market
- You will receive an email newsletter with what is available each week and some recipes
- You will still be supporting local organic farming in your community
THIS OFFER IS ONLY GOOD UNTIL JUNE 1ST and is payable through Paypal (below), e-transfer, cash or cheque (payable to Richard Tunstall). You can mail your cheque in or drop cash or cheques off at the farm (please call ahead)
We hope this system will provide everyone with increased flexibility and satisfaction.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about a CSA share. Thanks again and we’re very much looking forward to sharing another growing season with you!
